RAM appoints Cooper UK Agent
(Posted on 20/03/20)
Cooper Specialised Handling, the UK’s leading independent port-equipment supplier, has announced a distribution agreement with RAM Spreaders to market and distribute the complete range of RAM spreaders throughout the UK and Ireland.
Part of PEINER SMAG Lifting Technologies GmbH, RAM spreaders are a world-leading lifting accessories supplier between crane and load for both container and bulk cargo handling. Offering a complete range of innovative products that encompass spreaders and headblocks for multiple container-lifting through to handling and discharging of bulk containers, the RAM range represents a ‘hand-in-glove fit’ for Cooper’s increasing solutions-based equipment portfolio.
The new agreement sees Cooper take responsibility for both influencing new RAM spreaders onto new cranes regardless of crane supplier but also the replacement spreader market where RAM promises a full interchangeability service. Support will be provided by Cooper’s ever-expanding service engineering team backed-up by RAM’s specialist team, who will focus on training and technical support.
Speaking on behalf of Cooper SH, Chris Barnes, Sales Director, stated, “The RAM range is a perfect complement within our range and broadens our scope further. RAM Spreaders is a global brand with a significant population of units in use in the UK and Irish markets” Chris continued “We view the recent partnership with TEC Container in conjunction with RAM as a fresh approach to the STS, yard crane and MHC markets that also provides a unique portfolio enhancing our solutions-based opportunities where we appear to excel.”
Cameron Hay of RAM Spreaders said,” The Cooper option is a viable one for RAM in which we identified natural synergies between our businesses and feel confident will increase our presence in the important UK market. Our offices in Skelmersdale remain as one of our major hubs for product support and parts sales.
