TBA Group Awarded Ridley Terminals contract

(Posted on 26/05/21)

TBA Group has announced that Ridley Terminals Inc. (RTI) has selected CommTrac Terminal Management Software (TMS) for their multi-commodity bulk and liquified gas export facility located in Prince Rupert, British Columbia.

Ridley Terminals, a world-class, 24/7 facility, is Canada’s northern trade gateway to the Asia Pacific. RTI has an annual throughput capacity of approx. 18.5 million tonnes, handling product from across western Canada.

“Ridley Terminals’ decision to implement the CommTrac software will allow RTI to realize the benefits that come with the latest technology, including have the right systems to address our current & future needs, and improving existing processes to meet industry best practices.” David Magnusson – IT Manager

CommTrac will replace Ridley Terminals Inc.'s current legacy system and become the operational software for all terminal activities. The powerful integration capabilities of CommTrac will provide seamless connectivity to Ridley’s rail operator CN, vessel systems including vetting and tidal information, fixed equipment and finance systems to provide real-time data to operations and senior management on demand.

Glynn Thomas, Head of CommTrac Sales at TBA Group, stated "Here at TBA we believe that integration and automation are key when delivering to large fixed equipment operations which is why we are excited to be working with a forward-thinking company like Ridley Terminals Inc. on this project. The ability to automate new and existing processes using CommTrac gives Ridley Terminals a clear path to meeting their goals of robust/reliable data gathering as well as reducing administrative burden for their operational and back-office personnel.”

This latest contract sees Ridley Terminals Inc. become the first bulk operation in North America to chose CommTrac to manage their terminal operations. It also further cements TBA Groups’ footprint in the bulk sector and increases CommTrac’s installation base to over 35 bulk, general cargo and multipurpose terminals across the globe.
