PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (PT Vale) is holding a COVID-19 Mass Rapid Test for all employees and contractors in its operational area in the Sorowako Block, East Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi. This activity will be carried out in several locations including Mines Harapan, Process Plant, MEM, FES/ Plant Site Clinic and HRPD office starting on Monday, May 4, 2020.
PT Vale’s CEO Nico Kanter says that the mass rapid test is one of PT Vale’s measures in preventing the COVID-19 transmission and mapping the potential propagation around the company's operational areas. This is part of the Pandemic Preparedness Plan implementation at PT Vale.
"This mass Rapid Test will be carried out simultaneously and continuously at PT Vale's operational areas, referring to the guidance from by the Government and global standards from WHO. PT Vale has coordinated all preparation with the East Luwu administration, through the Head of the East Luwu Health Office on May 2, 2020,” explained Nico Kanter.
The organization and implementation of PT Vale's Rapid Rapid Test is coordinated by the rapid test Task Force. It is planned to cover progressively all of 3,000 of PT Vale's employees and around 7,000 of contractors’ workers. The mass rapid test is planned to serve approximately 500 people every day. At the same time, the rapid test is also being conducted at the Bahodopi Block (Central Sulawesi) and the Pomalaa Block (Southeast Sulawesi).
PT Vale continues to remind all employees, contractors and their families to remain disciplined in implementing all protocols of COVID-19 prevention such as maintaining physical distance, wearing masks, always washing hands with soap and routinely checking body condition.
