Yasa has subscribed to Weathernews' market-leading SeaNavigator platform for the past two years and will continue with its premium package that includes route optimization, accurate vessel performance monitoring, and full environmental support covering CII (Carbon Intensity Index), EU ETS, CO2 Emissions Monitoring Service (ESM), as well as Fuel EU reporting. The agreement covers Yasa's entire bulker and tanker fleets as well as future vessel purchases.
Weathernews' in-house meteorologists and voyage planners are in communication with ships across the Yasa fleet on a daily basis, in addition to arranging regular workshops with the company's operations department. Constant performance monitoring of individual vessels feeds into accurate voyage audit reports. On request, Weathernews also provides its Optimum Ship Routeing (OSR) service to Yasa's bulk and tanker fleet.
"We are delighted to continue our collaboration with Weathernews, a global leader in maritime weather and navigation services. Their cutting-edge solutions and accurate forecasts have been instrumental in enhancing the safety and efficiency of our operations at sea. Weathernews’ expertise and innovative approach make them an indispensable partner in tackling the challenges of maritime logistics. We look forward to achieving even greater milestones together," said Capt. Serkan Ozturk of Yasa.
"On the back of a strong relationship forged over the past two years, we are naturally very happy that Yasa's top management has opted to continue to work with us. They assessed the competition but we remained their top choice, which is a robust vote of confidence in our platform and technology," said Filotas Paschos, Business Development Manager at Weathernews.
Yasa is Turkiye's strongest shipping player and one of Weathernews' most important customers worldwide. "Our solutions are tailored to customers' specific requirements and our focus on objectively protecting their interests has won the favour of compatriot shipping companies who follow Yasa's strong example," Paschos added.
Weathernews Inc. was founded in 1986 as a service provider supporting safe maritime operations for shipping companies and is today a global leader in weather intelligence, forecasting, route optimization, emission monitoring, performance monitoring, and more.
